VARAHA: LIFTER OF WORLDS

Varaha-avatar is Lord Vishnu in the form of a boar. He famously battled the demon Hiranyaksha who had kidnapped Bhu-devi (Mother Earth) and was holding her deep beneath the ocean. Killing this demon, Varaha lifted Bhu-devi up from the depths, and restored Her place in the universe.

Varaha's presence helps us to destroy negativity and restore our true relationship with God.

Lord Vishnu as the divine boar symbolizes the satguru—a God realized being who rescues us from darkness and ignorance. Bhu-devi, representing the heart and our inner love, is buried deep beneath the ocean by Hiranyaksha, the embodiment of ego and the restless mind.

Just as Varaha lifts the Earth from the depths, the satguru lifts our buried love and truth, restoring them to their rightful place within the heart.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will celebrate Varaha Jayanti with an Abhishekam to Lord Varaha during the morning prayers at Bhutabhreteshwarnath Mandir and outside at the Varaha Mandir.
