The Art of Deity Eyes and Face Painting: Devotional worship to your Ishtadev

Learn this special practice by attending our newest workshop into the art and design of deity face painting. You will practise lines and dots, receive an introduction for different designs, and be guided by basic colour theory tips to choose the perfect colours for your Ishtadev.

The simple, step-by-step explanations offer an enjoyable experience for any skill level. It's ideal for beginners to learn the basics and for experienced painters to get inspired with new ideas, too.

Decorating the faces of your own Ishtadev is an act of worship and deepens your connection with your personal deities.

What you need

  • Please collect 1-2 stones that are the size of your deity’s head
  • Murti(s) (optional)
  • Print out of the handout (will be provided after your registration)
  • Small synthetic brush(s) (size numbers 0/2 or 0 are ideal)**
  • Set of ahimsa paints**

Bhakti Marga has its headquarters at Shree Peetha Nilaya, meaning ‘Abode of the Maha Lakshmi’, the Divine Mother. It is located in the beautiful German countryside near Wiesbaden. Residents and guests come together every day to participate in special events, prayers, meditation, singing, seva, and to share their love of the Divine with one another.

The course will take place ONLINE.


You must have access to ZOOM video conferencing software (free) and a reliable internet connection.

We recommend that you use ahimsa water-based pencils, paints and synthetic brushes only.
